Comment by Chica on April 16, 2013 at 8:40 We are hoping to head down to Jindy/Thredbo for the Anzac weekend, will Bungarra be open for MTB accress?
Comment by Hilary Smith on April 15, 2013 at 18:51 Hi Claire,
We stayed in 'Earth' at the Mountain High Lodges - brilliant! Pretty sure you met Scott and Marilyne who were also staying with us. (Scott came up for the Bungarra open day). I even think I saw you on the trails 'cos Scott said at one point "That's Claire over there...." but you were off in the distance. We're already talking about coming back to ride the rest of the Jindy trails we didn't get to ride this time.
Also, I got a 'Fat Bike' for my birthday this year. Been riding it on the coast but I'm busting to test it in the snow, so might have to plan a winter trip.
I'll write a story for our club website soon to get the word out.

Comment by Claire on April 15, 2013 at 18:08 Hey Hilary,
what a shame we didn't get to connect! Thanks for the feedback, its great to hear people are enjoying the trails that Jindy has to offer- and there are big plans for many more trails! Were you in the Mountain High Cottages or in one of the Lodges?
Feel free to spread the word- more people visiting means more trails will go in!!
Thanks for your comments, hopefully we can organise a ride next time :)

Comment by Hilary Smith on April 15, 2013 at 14:00 Claire, sorry I didn't get to meet you over the weekend, but what can I say? Just how many rides can you fit into one long weekend? Well if you're staying at Bungarra it seems pretty much endless..The trails are great, technically challenging but fun. Not too steep, although the climb up Round hill got the lungs pumping. More berms and flowing corners than you can ask for. The rocks take a little getting used to, but my cornering skills improved no end. We did manage to leave for a couple of hours to ride a Lake Crakenback and visit the distillery. I can highly recommend it to anyone and the accommodation in the cabins is fantastic. Great work everyone involved. Hilary
Comment by Claire on April 4, 2013 at 10:29 Hi Hilary,
Great to hear you're coming up to Jindy!
Bungarra has a pretty wide range of trails, so its hard to say which are the best! Personally, I like the Copperhead flow trail- and also the Garden Trail which climbs up Round Hill. There is actually a new trail which continues on from the Garden Trail and heads up Round Hill- its an epic climb, but it is definitely worth it to see the view over Jindy and the lake! This trail is still being cut in but its obvious and rideable. We are planning to put in 2 downhill trails but at the moment you have to ride back down the climbing trail. This isn't on the Bungarra map at the moment- and is yet to be named!
Enjoy- might see you on the trails :)

Comment by Hilary Smith on April 3, 2013 at 18:05 We're heading to Bungarra for a long weekend in a couple of weeks - any tips or suggestions? Which are the best trails?
Comment by kall on December 29, 2012 at 8:58 This was a great ride, flowing and not to steep lots of variety and enough of a challenge that you would enjoy going around a few times to milk the maximum speed.
Thanks for sharing Claire. Hoping I'll have time to check it out over Christmas.
Thanks for posting Claire - now for a weekend there!
